Australian Open 2026 will host the second edition of the AO Pickleball Slam from 30 January to 1 February 2026, transforming Show Court 3 into a battleground as some of the world’s top pickleball players go paddle-to-paddle.
With more than $100,000 in prize money up for grabs and recognition on the global stage, entry to the arena is included with AO Ground Passes. Spectators can expect fierce rallies, epic smashes and edge-of-your-seat action.
“The AO Pickleball Slam is set to provide an incredible experience for players and fans alike. The fun and engaging event promises to be a hit for fans of all ages,” said Tennis Australia Chief Tennis Officer Tom Larner.
The draw
Six teams will compete in the round-robin draw, which will determine the top two teams heading to the final playoffs. Each rubber will feature a dynamic mix of time-based matches; two men’s singles, two women’s singles, one men’s doubles, one women’s doubles and two mixed doubles.
The final rubber results will be determined by matches won, followed by points won, so every rally counts. In the event of a tie, each team selects a mixed doubles pair for a fast-paced, first-to-five shoot-out to claim victory.
Each team competing at the event will be named after one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways, a tribute to the city’s rich culture, creativity and unmistakable charm. From the vibrant energy of Degraves Street and Duckboard Place, to the historic flair of Guildford and Flinders Lanes, and the distinctive urban character of Hardware Street and Hosier Lane (the defending champions), each name reflects the spirit of Melbourne.
The draw will be released on Wednesday, 28 January 2026 at 12:00 PM AEDT.
